CABBS at the Cleveland Boat Show

CABBS has enjoyed participating at the Boat Show over the years but this year will be remembered as a year of change. 2026 marked the final year for the show at the IX Center venue.

Jason Decker’s Beg-Meil sailboat, a Francois Vivier design, drew countless admiring looks for its outstanding craftsmanship and gaff rig.

Joe Seguin’s cedar strip Rice Lake skiff caught the eyes and hand touches of many show goers.

For our kids event, we introduced life-size boat construction for the kids rather than counter top models.

We had on-hand two 9’6″ flat bottomed skiffs.  Each could be taken apart and reassembled using wooden pegs.

One boat  showed what it looked like assembled and the second one kids built and rebuilt many times over the four days of the show.

CABBS volunteers guided the kids placing parts, finding holes, and pushing in wooden pegs.  “Admiral CABBS” used his bullhorn and naval attire to narrate the action.

It all finished with a photo op for the admiring parents!

Thanks to all who helped in so many ways to make this year’s show the best yet!
