Motoring on the Erie Canal
Attending the Richardson Boat Owners Rendezvous
Hop aboard shipmates as we head to Lockport, New York where we board Heidi for a 140 mile trip on the Erie Canal. Our destination is the Richardson Boat Owners Rendezvous in Baldwinsville, New York, August 9- 11. Heidi is a 37 ft. Richardson Launched in 1941, owned and captained by Phil Cummings of Lockport who keeps the boat at a dock in his backyard along the Erie Canal.
The crew are CABBS members Jim Kroeger and Ed Neal. Jim had hoped to travel to the rendezvous in his own Richardson cruiser but the completion date of it’s extensive electrical system renovation came and went.
Did I mention Heidi is 75 years old? The old girl is bound to have some thoughts of her own about the trip.
Join Jim Kroeger and Ed Neal on their summer Erie Canal adventure. Their first stop, a bit off target, is the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton, NY.
